Why you need to create a clear vision for exercise motivation
If you want to succeed, you must create a clear compelling vision, something that you can relate to and resonate with.
It needs to be exciting enough to inspire you into action, but not so out of reach you give up!
Why we need vision?
If we don’t know where we are going there is no reason to bother when we don’t feel like it!
If your vision doesn't speak to your heart, it won't motivate you to stay on target. It needs to be YOUR vision, not someone else’s. Only you can explore and figure out what you want, no one else. All of our visions and goals are different and specific to ourselves.
Vision to achieve goals
Create the highest, grandest vision possible, yet achievable, because you can achieve only what you see.
Motivation by a clear vision
Close your eyes and create a clear vision of what you want to achieve.
It could be of you crossing the finish line in a walk, run, bike ride or swim.
It could be of you climbing to the top of a mountain.
It could be of you fitting into a dress for your Birthday party or a bikini for a tropical holiday.
It could be of you in a family photo shoot glowing.
It could be of you stepping on stage in a dance, fitness or body building competition.
This needs to be an inspirational vision to motivate you!
Mission statement for achieving goals
Once you have a clear vision which excites you create a mission statement to empower you to reach your goal and hold yourself accountable:
For example:
I will complete the 5km run at the Gold Coast Marathon Festival in July.
I will make it to the top of Mount Cootha by the end of next month.
I will fit into my formal high school dress again and look amazing at my 40th Birthday.
I will buy a new bikini and be confident stepping out onto the beach at Hamilton Island Resort at Christmas.
I will have lost 10kg and feel and look amazing for our family photo shoot in 3 months.
I am going to perform on the stage in the ballroom at the end of the year and make my husband and kids proud of me.
How to achieve vision and mission
Keep reminding yourself of your vision and mission.
Print pictures and copies of your mission statements in large, bold print.
Put them everywhere to remind you constantly and help motivate you into action.
On a board at your desk, on your fridge, on the toilet door, on your front and back door and your bedroom door.
Use them as your secret saver on your phone, lap top and desk top computer.
Bombard your brain with your vision and mission!
I am going to compete in my first body building championship at the end of the year at the age of 50 and look and feel my best ever!
Create your vision quotes
Create your vision quotes from your vision and your mission statement. Make up your own or reach for them on Pinterest or google. Make sure they resonate with you and your goals and mission to motivate you.
Examples:
“Difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.”
“If you want something you’ve never had you need to do something you’ve never done.”
“The best view comes from the hardest climb.”
“The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
“Remember why you started. Don’t give up, find a way.”
“The pain you feel today will be the strength you will feel tomorrow.”
“Create your vision, then go beast mode to achieve it.”
“Be fearless. Have a vision. Believe in yourself. Always hustle. Stay focused. Get out there. Get motivated. Get inspired.”
“I am successful.”
“Hold the vision. Trust the process. Be relentless.”
Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know and capable of more than you imagine.”
“A vision is not just a picture of what could be, it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.”
“Discipline is doing something what needs to be done, even if you don’t want to do it.”
“You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.”
“The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.”
“You will never always be motivated, so you must learn to be disciplined.”
“Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” Abraham Lincoln
Why create a vision board?
Create a vision board to make you brainstorm everything you want and remind yourself several times daily to motivate you.
You can print it out and attach to your wall or door, and have a copy on your computer so you can change and add as your vision changes or grows.
How to create a vision for your life
Your exercise motivation vision is more than just about exercise.
You will create a new vision of your life, with exercise changing your whole life vision, your work life, personal relationships, family life and mental health.
You will find new clarity and a change in your overall vision, productivity and life satisfaction in every area of your life and continue to build and grow as you achieve your goals, creating new, bigger goals as your confidence increases each goal you achieve.
